Privacy
A plain account of what happens when you read this site. Short, because almost nothing happens.
What this site does not do
Cryptonist sets no cookies of any kind — none for advertising, none for analytics, none for preferences. It runs no analytics or measurement script. It stores nothing in your browser. There is no newsletter, no account, no comment system and no form, so there is nothing here that asks you for a name, an address or anything else.
It also loads nothing from anyone else. Typefaces are served from this domain rather than fetched from a font provider, and there are no embeds, tag managers, social buttons or hosted scripts. Reading a page here does not make your browser talk to a third party — which is unusual enough to be worth stating plainly rather than leaving you to check.
What is processed anyway
One thing is, and a privacy page that did not say so would be misleading. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, and like any web host it handles the technical details of each request — including your IP address and browser user-agent — in order to serve the page and to protect the site from abuse. That happens at the infrastructure layer, on Cloudflare's terms rather than ours. We do not receive those logs, build profiles from them, or combine them with anything else, because there is nothing else to combine them with.
Links away from here
Articles link to sources, including policy pages and company sites. Once you follow one you are on someone else's site under their terms, and they may well do all the things this one does not. Nothing here is an affiliate link: no link on this site earns it money, which is a deliberate position rather than an oversight.
Who is responsible for this
The data controller for this site is Cryptonist, operated by UniK SEO. Questions about this page, or any request about personal data, go to privacy@cryptonist.co, and that address exists for this purpose rather than being a general enquiries line.
It is worth being straight about what that means in practice. Because the site holds no account, no mailing list and no form, there is normally nothing here filed under your name for anyone to retrieve, correct or delete. The one exception is the correspondence itself: if you write to the address above, your message and your email address exist in a mailbox until the matter is dealt with, and you can ask for them to be removed at any point.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Those rights apply here as they do anywhere — they simply have very little to attach to, which is a consequence of the design rather than a limitation of the rights.
Requests go to the address above and are answered within one month. If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to your national data protection authority; you do not need our agreement to do so, and the right exists whether or not you raise the matter with us first.
Changes
If this site ever starts measuring its own traffic, that will be recorded here before it begins, not after. Any change to what is collected is a change to this page.
